Geranium leaf in late September

Synchronicity: Yesterday I dyed silk with a friend. She had silk scarves, and I had silk hankies. We are fairly inexperienced in acid dyes -- I had only done single colors or space dyeing in a class. She had done Easter eggs. We had a great time with limited materials, including four jars of Greener Shades dye: we measured and mixed as best we could and came up with one crockpot of Flame Red and one with a leaf green we blended from three other colors. We immersed and dipped and re-dipped.

I took this bunch of silk hankies outside to dry and found that they matched the leaves of my geranium!
